I think he recognizes that even though they are in love, Sam needs to do the living thing and he needs to raise a family and have a girl and all that. What he's really saying with that goodbye kiss is, "Go, I'll wait for you." Because even though his leaving is almost like death, it isn't really. He's not dying, he's just going away. And even though they don;t get their happily ever after right there, they will get it eventually. And they'll grow old together and eventually they'll die together and it will be a romance for the ages.

Um, that's so perfect I could cry until I threw up. As awful and crude as that sounds, it's true. That makes my stomach so... wow. WOW. I DON'T KNOW. JUST WOW. What. is. my life. You're great for that. That's perfect. I hate fiction so much for not being real. Oh my god.

MARK AND JUNO ARE PERFECT FOR EACH OTHER WHAT WAS HER PROBLEM AT THE END, I DON'T EVEN GET IT. They're dancing right. Like she totally starts this entire thing. Calling just to say hi and eating up everything he says and coming over to hang out with him and talking about him to her best friends. SHE STARTS IT. EVEN THE ACTUAL PHYSICAL DANCING PART. And Mark just goes with it because she's beautiful and fun, and she fucking gets him. So he dances with her, and she rests her head on his shoulder because she's that obscenely comfortable with him, and he rests his chin on her head and she doesn't get DOESN'T GET how any of this is inappropriate, not even a little bit, she likes him SO MUCH that she doesn't understand. So he's honest with her and practically INVITING HER to come live with him when she graduates, to be WITH HIM because he sees everything they are and could be, in a way that doesn't have to be the strictest set of lines, just something that flows and goes easily because they fit together like that, but they don't have to be perfect and not everything has to be planned out and structured. And she just. I get it. I get why she freaks out. She loves that baby that's inside of her, even though she didn't want to, and a threat to that baby, even if it's you know, the mere destruction of it's family life, hurts her, and how could MARK do that to her, and to the baby, the baby she thought he was going to love, even more than she loved. So I get it. But... that should not have been the end of it. How could she not know how she was treating him. "How do you think of me?" he asks, and she just. WHAT. HOW DO YOU NOT REALIZE THAT HE THOUGHT YOU WERE LIKE TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH HIM, JUNO.
